A man was sleeping one night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light, and God appeared. The Lord told the man he had work for him to do, and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin. The Lord explained that the man was to Push against the rock with all his might… So, this the man did, day after day for many years he toiled from sun up to sun down, his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, Pushing with all of his might. Each night the man returned to his cabin sore and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain.

Since the man was showing discouragement, the adversary (Satan) decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts into the weary mind: (He will do it every time) “You have been Pushing against that rock for a long time and it hasn’t moved.” Thus, he gave the man the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure. These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man. Satan said, “Why kill yourself over this? Just put in your time, giving just the minimum effort; and that will be good enough.”

That’s what the weary man planned to do, but decided to make it a matter of Prayer and to take his troubled thoughts to The Lord. “Lord,” he said, “I have labored long and hard in Your Service, putting all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half a millimeter. What is wrong? Why am I failing?”

The Lord responded compassionately, “My friend, when I asked you to serve Me and you accepted, I told you that your task was to Push against the rock with all of your strength, which you have done. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to Push. And now you come to Me with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so? Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back shiny and brown; your hands are calloused from constant pressure, your legs have become massive and hard.

Through opposition you have grown much, and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have. True, you haven’t moved the rock. But your calling was to be Obedient and to Push and to exercise your Faith and trust in My Wisdom. That you have done. Now, I, my friend, will move the rock.”

At times, when we hear a Word from God, we tend to use our own intellect to decipher what He wants, when actually what God wants is just Simple Obedience and Faith in Him. By all means, exercise The Faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still God Who Moves The Mountains.

I recently received an email and the customer wrote:

“I am actually looking for some way to build up my income online. Do you have anything that is honestly making you money that did not take a lot of money or time to get going?”

I probably make between $200.00 on a slow month to $600.00 on a good month - all of it is passive income.

What is passive income?

Passive income is money you earn without having to do much work to get it.  That’s really the type of income I like - who doesn’t?

Let me explain.  I don’t spend a lot of time marketing. I suppose I could be like “gooroos” who create worthless ebooks and then charge a ton of money for them, but then I wouldn’t be helping anyone - I’d be earning a bunch of money from people who are trying to learn how to earn it because they don’t have it and need it. I just don’t see that as helping.

I tend to be more of the type of person who wants to help others earn money online rather than to charge people for every little scrap of information I can put out. My husband is always telling me I give away too much for free but when the internet was new, information was free.  It wasn’t until a few years later that someone figured out that you can toss up a membership site filled with content and charge people for access to that information. Now it seems you get charged for almost everything.

75% of my marketing income comes from my online store at resellrightsforsale.com. It’s a passive income for me so basically I do very little work and just sit back.  The money comes in or it doesn’t - makes no difference to me.

I think I spent 6 months promoting my online store and now I barely market it at all. I just add my new products once or twice a week and that’s it. Occasionally I need to handle a tech support question if someone has problems downloading but basically it’s a self-serve store that doesn’t require much maintenance.

People really seem to love the fact that they can get the latest products without having to pay $37.00 for each one, which seems to be the latest price for just about every ebook or software released in the internet marketing world today. Most of the stuff isn’t worth what people charge for it, so I sell stuff for a fraction of the original price - that’s probably why I sell a lot more of it and my customers keep coming back.

The other 25% of my income comes from passive affiliate sales. I simply find a good product that I believe in, something I actually use and like, toss a link on my site or send out a quick email to my list and that’s it.

I think the secret to making money online is diversity - making sure you have a large range of products to offer to your lists because what may appeal to one person, may not be interesting to someone else.

I’m not much on mailing to my list 2 or 3 times a week and constantly cramming new products down their throats.  I don’t like getting emails like that and usually unsubscribe from lists that do that.  I do however email my list when I find something that I get really excited about; because I used it and it worked for me or had some valuable information in it.

Making money online is a learning process.  You can’t expect to get rich overnight.  Any program, product or ebook seller that promises you’ll get rich quick or earn large amounts of money for doing one simple thing is just hype.  It doesn’t happen quickly no matter what anyone says.  You must first learn the basics and then apply what you’ve learned to your marketing efforts.  It simply cannot be done in a day, a week or even a month.  It’s a slow process of testing, learning, applying and building your online income.
